It seems its kinda awkward between them 2 for now but in time they will acclimate to each other, the light hissing seems more to come from the fact they dont really understand each others intention than aggressivity towards the other one. Keep in mind they are from diferent species so socially its gonna be a little trickier for them to create a bond. However this time the chances for them to success are much higher since Itchel already had some problems on her own (probably not her fault though they came from her past). Definitely, Gerda wanted to play and Messi was just being more cautious. I think Gerda being female will help in their getting to know one another. 2 alpha males would have been a big problem.

Нормальное знакомство для двух кошек на одной территории, вскоре обязательно подружатся. Больше всех Саша переволновался, хорошо, что засняли для нас.

This video gives me hope for a long and lasting friendship between these two angelic and stunning felines. They both got a touch testy and territorial with each other, but they weren't actively trying to murder each other through the barrier. Mostly just warning vocalizations, but nothing too terribly bad. I have hope!!! Messi, Gerda, Kira, Sasha, and Masha, I love you all so much!!! You all brighten my day, and have made my quarantine experience considerably better. I would be going alot more stir crazy if it weren't for you all. Please Don't stop making videos!!! The day to day antics of this amazing family are a wonder to behold. My mother also loves watching Messi videos, she is just as enamored and absolutely in love with His Highness as I am. We all live in a very tiny town in Northeast Michigan, USA. North America loves Messi, Gerda, Kira, Sasha, and Masha!!!!

I started watching several years ago when I was diagnosed with Lyme disease and have to stay in bed and rest all the time. It sure has helped pass the time. I live in Virginia. ✌️ Also like to watch Michael Jamison's Tigers and animals💕 And Yoll the eagle owl channel. There are Chunk the ground hog. Choo Choo the chipmunks. And James Blackwood and his raccoons. Kosumet or Kotsumet Otters Hana and Kotaro. Also Captain Aty. ♥️ They all help pass the time. I much prefer watching animals. I turned off the cable years ago. Maybe you will find something there to enjoy. ✌️

It is interesting that when Messi met the dogs in dog school, he showed no emotion, but when he saw a cat base, he acted differently. I remember he jumped out of house when he saw ichel before.

It could be due to the fact that he's been around dogs since he was a little cub. I'm no cat expert so please correct me if I'm wrong but I think it's mainly due to the way Messi was brought up, as he's quite familiar with dogs and he feels somewhat comfortable around them. Big cats don't generally see dogs as a threat unless they're competing for territory or food in which big cats will always have the upper hand in fights due to their superior build, weapons and fighting techniques. They however, often see other big cats as potential enemies, mainly due to competition and natural instinct. Messi knows Gerda is also a big sized cat and not a dog, (cougars and cheetahs aren't true big cats) so when his natural instincts kicked in he immediately got into defensive mode.

The beginning of a beautiful friendship.
I love what these two people have done - giving these cats a wonderful home with all the care and dedication that goes with it. Having said that, I have serious doubts that these cats can ever be "in the same room together." This is my initial gut instinct based on what I see. Two different species who didn't have the opportunity to encounter one another at a young age. They are both a bit older and bolder. Set in their ways. I hope I'm dead wrong. No matter what, Sasha & Masha WILL make it work. There can be no doubt about that!
I also believe they can not be in the same room, their both fierce in their own species. However, from a distance, they can learn each other scent to adjust it is normal. They already have been in each presence several times and Messi hissed and ran behind the house and was peaking around the corner but he dared not let her get an inch to him. Although Greta did try to touch Messi a few times with her paw lightly bc she wanted his attention, Messi was like NO way, I'm outta here" and Greta went chasing after Messi all the way around the house. What she was actually going to do to Messi well it never happened bc Messi was so smart he dared her not to come close to him. Her fangs are longer and sharper. Can you blame Messi for hauling his butt as fast as he was running behind and around the house?(LOL)

С каждым днём сильнее гнев, я же пума - горный лев! Как могу я добрым быть, территорию делить - С этой дамочкой в горошек, не хватало мне тут кошек! И скажу - мне вообще это всё не по душе! Тут конечно родаки заиграли в поддавки: Предложили мне креветок, уложили в гамаки. Начали меня жалеть, ублажать и песни петь, Разрешили мне опять тренировки пропускать. Ладно, ладно так и быть, разрешу себя любить! Но для важности большой - поворчу денёк другой. И пока тебе писал, злобный мой настрой пропал. Даже стало жалко кошку, только капельку, немножко. Пусть приходит Герда к нам, но гамак ей не отдам И диван не дам, и плед, и кроватку, и обед. Хорошо, что ей креветки не положены диеткой, Пусть жуёт свою еду, ладно, ладно я шучу. Вроде полегчало мне, главное, чтоб были все Счастливы, спокойны, всем всегда довольны! Только раз и навсегда - главный в этом доме я! И любимчиком в семье - быть вовеки только мне! P.S. Messi didn't know how to take the whole situation clearly. The jury is out if Gerda was playful or protecting her property (aggressing). Maybe Princess Kira should have been brought out to settle matters lol. I still wonder if the Masha and Sasha maybe could have assisted in the meeting. someone said this was an accidental meeting but the other day (Sunday) several translations I guess said the big meet and greet was Tuesday (today). At least there wasn't any fighting. I still would have liked Masha and Sasha kind of acting like intermediaries reassuring both Gerda and Messi. I do not read Russian but I am not sure there was any intention to have Gerda move in to the main hourse. I wonder if they were thinking of building an addition or a new house? I am not sure how this works ie. if the I am Puma and I am Cheetah channels bring in enough money to support a new house for the family. Regardless I love this family. How can you not - so much love and hope!

OlWolf1011 with gerda being raised in zoo, where she was for seven years, I would think that she is more accustomed to the idea of living close to other big cats. But you never know....who knows her history with other animals and it also doesn’t help that she is cheetah, species which is naturally flighty and which instinctively ran away from bigger cats, in the natural habitat, like lions and leopards. "Luckily” Messi is not really bigger than her, though I would say he packs more muscle. Who knows...

Gerda grew up in a zoo. They've both always been in captivity. Different, but neither was raised in the wild.
@XmenMagnetoAcolytes yea I can't see myself being near as uneasy with a cheetah as I would be with a puma. Also the way their claws are compared to cheetahs.

Both thought they were the only one. To be expected that they would become territorial and anxious. Parents have more than enough love for all but kitties don't understand that. Hope they will be ok, in time. Take your time to introduce them. Don't worry about pressure from comments. It is a family situation after all. Messi's gentle nature is so well nurtured. But it's partly cos he is the golden child. If he feels his place is threatened, he may get aggressive. Especially since they're of similar size. There's bound to be scuffles though, for them to work it out. Praying for your success!

@@ivanivan8221 да где он показал себя трусом- ни разу! Никогда!!! Как он спокойно и уравновешенно ведёт себя везде- с ним хоть на собачьей площадке, хоть в кинотеатре. Он не трусоват- он миролюбив. Да и насчёт ревности, я не думаю чтобы такой добряк излил свою ревность во что-то кровожадное. Мне кажется они станут друзьями и будут играть. А лучше всего уверить Месси, что Герда куплена только для него, как подружка-игрушка.
